The esophageal pH test is an outpatient procedure that measures the pH or amount of acid that flows into the oesophagus from the stomach over the course of 24 hours. Esophageal manometry is always included in a 24-hour
pH study.

Study of symptomatic patients, endoscopically controlled, with negative exam (NERD)
Study of patients endoscopically controlled with therapyresistant symptoms
Study of patients with atypical or extra-esophageal symptoms (such as pharyngitis, rhinitis, cough, asthma, retrosternal pain, etc..)
Study of patients in which surgical treatment for gastroesophageal reflux disease is indicated.
